In 2013 I left a full-time agency position to work as a freelance designer.

The “steadies” I gave up with my full-time position - constant flow of projects, regular paycheck, standard office hours - turned out not to be sacrifices, but opportunities to shape how I worked best.
These “steadies” were replaced with challenges to build strong working relationships, set my own earnings, and sharpen my time management skills.
As a freelancer, I can connect with clients (and design partners!) to build designs we are both excited about.
